06 Oct MDI Solutions’ Integration Engine customer launches Patient Portal
The Group Health Centre (GHC), Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario has joined the ranks of healthcare organizations offering a patient portal with secure access to test results and much more. The Group Health Centre has launched myCARE, a secure online patient portal that provides patients with the ability to send messages to their healthcare team, request prescription renewals, manage appointments, and review lab test results online. MyCare is driven by GHC’s Epic Systems MyChart™ and offers GHC patients “a number of unprecedented options for access, information and communication”, according to Alex Lambert, CEO of GHC.
MDI Solutions was responsible for developing all interfaces (to internal and external systems) on the MD Link integration engine to support the Epic Systems (and MyCARE) implementation. MDI assigned two Bridges (internal Epic interface toolkit) certified integration resources to the project, who coordinated the interface workflow design and development, and assisted GHC staff with testing of the Epic clinical applications.
Group Health Centre is a progressive, multi-specialty, ambulatory care health organization and is one of Canada’s first consumer-sponsored health care facilities built with private funds donated by local union members. GHC was established in 1963, and currently serves over 71,000 Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District residents.
