MDI Solutions provides JCAPS Interface Engine Upgrade Services

MDI Solutions has successfully upgraded the JCAPS integration engine at CharterCare Health Partners, Providence, Rhode Island.

CharterCare contacted MDI Solutions in August, 2010 to provide HL7 integration support and development services for their JCAPS™ interface engine. MDI responded rapidly to complete an assessment of the current integration environment and determine requirements for 24 x 7 support and a plan to complete development on a number of critical interfaces. Based on their in depth knowledge of the JCAPS software and nearly four years of managing the hospitals’ integration environment, MDI was assigned to manage the engine upgrade.

MDI’s assigned a senior integration analyst (JCAPS Certified) to plan and manage the upgrade from Release 5.1.3 to 6.3. The upgrade was completed successfully with the MDI analyst setting up the new software on a test server, testing all interfaces and then porting the interfaces to the Production environment; without any service disruption to critical hospital processing. In the coming weeks, MDI will be developing the Alert Agent application (part of the JCAPS Suite) to provide a preemptive and proactive service to the CharterCare HelpDesk and support staff.

CharterCARE, (http://chartercare.org), a hospital affiliation between St. Joseph Health Services of Rhode Island (Fatima Hospital) and Roger Williams Medical Center (RWMC), was formed to preserve and enhance quality health care for the communities it serves. Through this affiliation, CharterCARE provides a much stronger foundation—financially, administratively and operationally—from which they can continue to provide high quality care to the communities they serve. This foundation includes 3,200 employed health professionals and enjoys one fourth of the Providence market share.
