MDI Solutions provides screen-level Integration

St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph, Ontario has expanded their integration software and services contract with MDI Solutions to provide screen-level integration between various systems and data routing.

St. Joseph’s initially engaged MDI Solutions to provide their integration engine software (MD Link) and interfacing services. In the initial project phase MDI resources developed interfaces between the ADT system and a new EMR, and legacy decision support software. The Health Centre then identified a requirement to develop an inbound interface from their transcription system (Microsoft Word document) to the EMR. MDI will use their Word™ conversion tools to import the transcribed reports from Acentis to PointClickCare (PCC) – the patient identifier will be read from the reports and used to identify the patient record in PCC, where the report will be uploaded to the patient record. Additionally, the transcribed reports will be routed to pre-set locations for distribution to physicians and other care providers – fax server, manual print folder, remote download folder, etc.

St. Joseph’s Health Centre (www.sjhcg.ca), is Guelph’s leading, fully-accredited, not-for-profit provider of resident long-term care, complex continuing care, and rehabilitation services. In addition, St. Joseph’s out-patient clinics offer a range of services in the areas of geriatrics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech/language pathology, rheumatology, psychiatry, and bone densitometry.
