The complete Cloverleaf® Integration Services system consists of four parts:
- Cloverleaf Integration Services Engine
- Recovery Database
- Translation System
- Network Configurator

The Cloverleaf Integration Services Engine
The Cloverleaf® Integration Services engine is the active agent of Cloverleaf® Integration Services, which manages the messages within the Cloverleaf® Integration Services system.
Recovery Database
The Cloverleaf® Integration Services engine uses the recovery database to manage information about messages that the engine is currently processing, so that these messages can be automatically recovered if the system crashes while they are being processed.
The Translation System
The translation system is responsible for translating messages that it receives from the Cloverleaf® Integration Services engine. It performs all the tasks required to change the contents of inbound messages to a format that is intelligible to the destination application.
The Network Configurator
The Network Configurator is used to configure connections to and from Cloverleaf® Integration Services. This tool, and other configuration tools, are accessed through the Cloverleaf® Integration Services IDE (Integrated Development Environment). It provides the rules that enable the Cloverleaf® Integration Services engine to handle both inbound and outbound protocols, and it also specifies which of the available translations are to be performed by the translation system.
Components
Cloverleaf® Integration Services have four components:
- The Host Server is the primary working component, which holds all the program files and configuration information required to perform message brokering functions.
- The Client is the user interface to the Host Server.
- The Security Server is an optional service that provides Advanced Security features.
- The LDAP Server facilitates the Security Server’s Advanced Security package. It is installed with the Security Server, and manages user access data.
