Successful Integration Conversion from eGate to MD Link Interface Engine

MDI Solutions successfully converted the eGate™ interfaces at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa, Ontario to the MD Link™ integration engine.

Following the announcement update from Oracle that they were sun setting their eGate integration engine, CHEO sought out a company that could provide a system with proven stability, flexibility and growth potential. MDI presented MD Link and a comprehensive plan to migrate all existing interfaces. MDI assigned a senior eGate specialist to manage the migration, with a mandate of minimizing any disruption to current patient and data processing.

MDI successfully converted 40+ interfaces in less than 3 months. Existing interfaces were developed using the proprietary ‘Monk’ coding, which required a rewrite of data mapping and translations in most cases. Working in collaboration with CHEO’s IT staff, MDI managed all aspects of the engine migration, from validating clinical workflow to User Acceptance Testing and Go-Live.
