MDI Solutions Integration Engine selected to replace eGate™

With the recent announcement update from Oracle that they are sun setting their eGate™ integration engine, hospitals using that software are now looking for a company that can provide a system with greater stability, flexibility and growth potential. Equally important is selecting a vendor that can minimize any negative impact on their organization by providing a seamless and cost-effective migration to the new software. Understanding that upgrading from eGate would require a complete rewrite of their interfaces, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), Ottawa, Ontario looked to MDI Solutions to provide an alternative.

MDI presented the MD Link integration engine and their expert resource team to CHEO, along with a comprehensive migration plan. Based on the minimal disruption to current processes outlined in the plan, the ease of use (drag-and-drop GUI) of MD Link and the knowledge of the MDI interface team, CHEO decided on MDI Solutions.

Alan McLaren, MDI Solutions Vice President of Business Development, commented, ‘eGate hospital and vendor users have a great alternative in MDI Solutions. MD Link was designed by users with all interface workflow and configuration managed from a single screen, and our HL7 certified team is second to none in knowledge and customer commitment when it comes to designing and developing integration solutions. Another differentiator with MD Link is our ‘no hidden fees’ approach – all data connectors are included when the software is installed, which includes embedded HL7 v2.x, SSL, Web Services, Database Read/Write and more.
