MDI Solutions successfully migrates laboratory information system (genetics) data for The Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids), Toronto, Ontario.
Sick Kids initially engaged with MDI Solutions to provide custom report writing and MLM coding for their Sunrise Clinical Manager (Allscripts) software. The Hospital then identified a need to migrate data off of an aging GLIS (Shire) database. MDI Solutions successfully migrated all the pertinent data from the Shire GLIS database to SQL, including the development of a Viewer. The migration project included the following tasks/steps:
- Validate the current state of the Shire GLIS Database
- Build SSIS, Pull Data from the Shire database and normalize the data
- Create a web view of data migrated from the Shire Database to a standalone instance of SQL to support a set of queries
- Test and debug the database and viewer
